Never mind how the dictionary explains away “beastly”, but the act of rape among humans is just not beastly. And why? Simply because beasts, that is wild animals, do not rape ever.

Blame it on semantics! :) Something happened to the noun on its way to becoming a modifier. :)

No Grace you cant blame it on semantics. Semantics should convery the true and honest sense of the word and it should connote the soul and spirit of ’what something really means’. ’Blaming beatiality’ on semantics is interpreted as twisted, skewed and perverted reflection and turnaround. No offence meant to your observation but I just ried to modify it.

Yes, that’s true. The term ’beastly’ might be used to denote unusual cruelty, but human cruelty is nowhere to be found in the animal world. Even the animals that hunt to eat, kill for food in a very prompt manner so as to inflict the least pain on the killed.
Ordinarily, a hunter would attack the neck and break the spine, thereby snapping all sensations of pain. so, the pain goes before the victim actually dies. That’s the most merciful way of killing when the animal has to.
And yes, they don’t rape ever.
Therefore, animal world might appear cruel but it is actually not despite all the blood, gore and eating of flesh. Human world is far more cruel. It is primarily because of our sense of power and control. Our lust for controlling our environment leads to the brutality that plagues the world.
